Our Care

care worker and resident

Care is built into the Park Group DNA. Our founders, Diane and Lawrence Alexander, were frontline carers before they moved into management roles. We understand that when you are making a decision about a loved one, the quality and consistency of care is the No1 priority. Every decision we have made in designing The Bill House has been made with this in mind. We aim to maintain maximum independence and quality of life for every resident, with residential care as well as specialist dementia care created according to individual needs, while ensuring our staff have the training and experience to handle every contingency.

Care at The Bill House

Our carers

With more than 35 years of experience, we know that any team is only as strong as its weakest member, which is why we pride ourselves on our staff. Every team member at The Bill House is selected on the basis of experience, compassion and expertise. Our turnover is very low; many of our staff have been with us for years and are an extended part of the family. As part of their induction, everyone is trained in specialist dementia care and our staff’s experience goes up to NVQ Level 5.

    Their training

Learning is a vital and ongoing part of care. All staff at The Bill House complete a care certificate which recognises their knowledge of 15 fundamental care standards. We encourage everyone to undertake QCF Level 2 or higher and we provide an ongoing free training programme for all staff.

“The care received has been wonderful. All of the staff without exception are worthy of the highest praise for their kindness.”

    Our Services

From the moment residents wake up until they go to sleep, and through the night if necessary, our teams are on hand to assist with every aspect of the day. Whether it’s help with getting dressed, medication, eating and drinking, activities, social activities, financial support, exercise, mental health, personal care, or anything else, the staff at The Bill House care home are dedicated to providing compassionate, thoughtful, expert support, tailored to individual needs. Where services aren’t available on the premises, specialist visits and outings can be organised.

    1

    Specialist Dementia Care and support

Drawing on Park Group’s decades of experience in specialist dementia care, as well as cutting-edge research and training, staff at The Bill House focus on wellbeing, happiness and a feeling of safety and security for every resident. Thanks to a continuous programme of education and training, we ensure our carers have everything they need to provide the highest standards of support.

    2

    Wellness Support

Harmony and variety are essential for a happy, meaningful life, which is why wellness informs all of our care at The Bill House. Our care home staff ensure all residents are provided with all necessary nutrition and hydration, with an ever-changing range of delicious seasonal meals, with plenty of fruit and vegetables, as well as unlimited tea, coffee and drinks. Everyone deserves to keep feeling special and as such, we offer spa treatments and hydrotherapy – included in the price of the room – as well as other pampering, to ensure residents feel cared-for in all their needs.

    Active Living

Retaining as much physical mobility and independence as possible is vital in older age, especially for individuals living with dementia. Studies have shown that staying active can have a huge impact on overall wellbeing. At our care home in Sussex, we lay on a full programme of activities, from walks on the beach to wildlife tours in our specially designed grounds and gardens. There’s something to suit every level of ability and interest, with our staff on hand to ensure all residents feel confident and secure. We work with feedback from residents so they can develop their own schedule of activities and specialist dementia care based on their interests.
